The Studio Space
Wermaid Studio is a garage atelier designed for focus, community, and the "good kind" of messy creativity. Whether you’re working large-scale or working in a sketchbook, the space is built to adapt to your process.
The Space & Equipment:
Versatile Workstations: 8 changeable wall easels for large-scale or standing work, plus table seating for up to 10 artists.
Student Tools: 12 table easels are available for use during any session—just bring your favorite media and settle in.
Digital Integration: Equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and a large presentation screen for high-res references, technique demos, and digital critiques.
Please note: We are still in the process of upgrading the space and the studio is currently not wheelchair accessible.
Anya has been passionate about drawing and painting since childhood. Inspired by nature, folklore, mythology, and the creatures that inhabit these worlds, her work seeks to evoke emotion and ignite the imagination of those who view it.
Based in Rolleston, New Zealand, Anya has a background in graphic design and is a self-taught artist. She works primarily in pastels and oils, crafting pieces that reflect her deep connection to the natural world and her fascination with storytelling. When not creating art, she enjoys reading books, crocheting, cross-stitching, walking her dog Nyx, table-top gaming and caring for her ever-growing collection of plants.
In addition to her own artistic practice, Anya offers art classes to share her love of drawing and creativity with others. Her classes aim to foster a welcoming space for people to explore their own artistic journeys.
